The Droopy Dog
The dog lies beside me, its droopy eyes staring at nothing and its droopy ears so close I can't help but reach out and touch it, gurgling nonsense at the basset hound. Its jaws find my hand, biting down, and I scream and cry, more out of confusion and pain as my father drags the droopy dog away, spitting anger at the creature as it stares up at him with eyes so big. Before the dog knows it, he's taken by others, sold for what it has done, and stares out the rear window of the car, sadness in its droopy eyes as it's taken from its home, never to return.

The Poem in Which I Realize Just How Young I Am
Around 2002 we move from our small house to a bigger one on the mountainside. It is closer to my elementary school, where I am accepted into the Magnet program. My first day of school is scary.
Around 2005 my family and I go to Europe to see Spain, France, and Italy. We cram clothes into small suitcases, a feat never to be repeated. Italy is the best.
Around 2003 I tell my crush that I had liked him the previous year. He says that he had liked me, too, but now only thought of me as a friend. I agree that it was the same with me. It is a lie.
Around 1999 we go to Disneyland for our summer vacation. There are ducks sitting near out t

We've Already Lost - LOK
They watched in silence as Mako carried Korra onto the air bison's back, scaling up its tail to set her down in the saddle. They heard him murmur something comforting to her, his hand running down her messy hair, fingers brushing along her face, lingering on her scar.
Bolin glanced behind himself at Asami, who was staring down at the pavement beneath her, like she hoped it would open up and swallow her so she didn't have to see this happen right in front of her. She was hurting just as much as he was at this display in front of them. His eyes landed on Naga, still standing behind the group, and he knew that there was no way he was going back
You hold my hand in yours
Large fingers intwined with small ones
I wish that honey was smeared on our palms
So that our hands would stick together
But there is nothing but air
There is nothing by unspoken emotions
Nothing but unshared feelings
Secrets
Lies
Our hands slip from their hold and fade

Bloodstained Sand Drabble
Blood.
Her body moved like a predator's over the pile of corpses, her arms hanging lax by her side, her eyes staring ahead at nothing, yet taking everything in. Her whole body seemed to be dull, devoid of life. A moon hung over her, the only light and witness to the horrific scene spread out before it. Red spilled out over the porcelain white sand, inking up the white scenery and marring its pure image. She tipped back her head, staring at the moon hover in the sky, and let out a blood curdling roar over the dunes. She was the strongest now. There was no one that could say otherwise.
Blood.
A hand opened out in front of her and she g
Pain. Indescribable pain radiates through my body, as if my veins are on fire. My knees can no longer support me as I fall to the darkness, crumpling into the snow. I blend in quickly, like I'm not even there, my pale complexion and ivory hair becoming one with the flakes. My breathing comes slow and shallow, my heart feeling like it's about to explode as I clutch desperately at my chest, willing the hole in my chest to fill so this pain will go. All I see is ink dripping over my eyes. There is no snow, there is nothing. There is only black to greet me.
But then I f

Yin x Hei DTB Valentine's Day
Hei shied away from all the Japanese woman leering at him as he walked down the street casually, his hands thrust into his pockets. All around him were glowing hearts and people selling chocolates. Valentine's day. Every year he tried to wrap his head around the purpose of this holiday, and every year it managed to escape him. That is, if there was any reason at all. To him it looked like another day where you spent your money frivolously for things that would not last. What was the point of it all? This da y was also like the beginning of the mating season for woman, they always had their eye out for a potential mate, and somehow most
